The public record
House Homeland Security Democrats announced a June 12–13 visit to San Juan and Naranjito to assess recovery. The advisory described planned meetings about hurricane and earthquake reconstruction, education, and energy.
NAPREC analysis
An announced oversight visit establishes an intention to inspect and listen; it does not itself establish findings. NAPREC's approach is to follow the visit with a request for documented conclusions and concrete commitments. Recovery oversight is most useful when residents can see which obstacles were identified and who will address them. Equal federal representation is the structural goal, while accountable follow-through is the immediate test.
The statehood connection
NAPREC supports equality through statehood. Puerto Rico’s residents do not have voting senators or a final House floor vote through their Resident Commissioner, and Puerto Rico does not appoint presidential electors. Admission would address that structural representation question. It would not remove the need to legislate program rules, plan a transition, or hold government accountable for results.

Demócratas del Comité de Seguridad Nacional anunciaron una visita del 12 al 13 de junio a San Juan y Naranjito. El aviso describió reuniones previstas sobre reconstrucción tras huracanes y terremotos, educación y energía.

Una visita anunciada expresa intención, no hallazgos. NAPREC debe seguirla con conclusiones y compromisos documentados. La fiscalización sirve cuando residentes conocen obstáculos y responsables. La representación federal igual es la meta estructural; el seguimiento responsable es la prueba inmediata.
La conexión con la estadidad
NAPREC apoya la igualdad mediante la estadidad. Los residentes de Puerto Rico no tienen senadores federales con voto ni voto final en el pleno cameral mediante su Comisionado Residente, y Puerto Rico no designa electores presidenciales. La admisión atendería esa representación estructural. Seguirían siendo necesarias reglas de programas, planificación de transición y responsabilidad por resultados.
